In short
Only with your consent, we measure how our articles are read. Without consent, nothing is loaded and nothing is sent. You can change your mind at any time with the button at the bottom of this page.
Who measures, and with which tool
Jakarto measures this blog’s audience with Google Analytics, a service of Google LLC. The data is processed by Google, including in the United States, outside Québec.
What we collect
- the pages viewed, their language, and the article read;
- for each section of an article, whether it was displayed and how long it stayed on screen;
- some interactions: use of the before/after sliders, scrolling, clicks to other sites;
- technical data collected by Google Analytics: device type, browser, browser language, referring site, and an approximate location (city, country) derived from the IP address;
- a random identifier, stored in a cookie that expires at most 13 months after your last visit, used to recognize a returning visit.
We do not collect your name, your email address, or anything you might type. Google Analytics advertising features are turned off, and this data is neither sold nor combined with other sources.
Why
To learn which articles, and which parts of them, interest our readers and in which language, so we can improve what we publish. The results are used in internal, aggregated reports.
How long
Detailed data is kept for 14 months in Google Analytics, then deleted automatically. Aggregated reports, which cannot identify a visitor, may be kept longer.

Your choice is stored in your browser. If you withdraw your consent, measurement stops and the Google Analytics cookies are deleted from this site. For any question, or to exercise your rights of access and correction, write to contact@jakarto.com. See also our privacy policy (in French).
